It’s a nipo-Peruvian fusion restaurant, if we label Osaka. For me it is a place with different and fantastic ceviches. I always ask the trio and the wasabi one is obligatory. It is one of the most famous (and expensive) in Buenos Aires. But for those who eat Japanese in places like São Paulo, prices are not so scary. The 1st Osaka opened in Lima and today the restaurant is also located in … Continue reading

SAO: Shigueru
A traditional Japanese restaurant with great choices of hot dishes and very fresh fish. Start qith the tasty Chawanmushi, a low temperature cooked egg with seafood and mushrooms. The sushi and sashimi are very fresh and the variety is great, as uni, roe, and unagui. The udon is delicious and bentô is a good choice for lunch. The service is very, very good. It’s not cheap, but price is ok with Sao Paulo standards. Shigueru: Leopoldo Couto … Continue reading
NYC: A Voce Columbus or “Italian with a view”
The Columbus Circle fantastic view already worth the visit, but they also serve the sensational Italian food. The focaccia with olive oil is great and Porchetta (pork belly with figs, balsamic and pistachio) is a must! The pollo al Matone was tasty and I’m not a big fan of chicken. And Spaghetti alla chittara with langostinos? I think everything they have is fanstastic. It looks expensive but believe me, it isn’t. A Voce Columbus: 10 Columbus Cir., 3rd fl., Midtown. Tel: 212-823-2523. Mon-Wed, 11:30am-2:30pm and 5pm-10pm; … Continue reading

MAD: La Gabinoteca ou “Bourdain’s truffled egg”
If Anthony Bourdain goes to a restaurant, expectations are high. And it was because of him that I was curious to go to La Gabinoteca in Madrid. But the most famous tapa of the house influenced me as well, el “Potito”: a deconstructed tortilla inside a pot: potatoes, boiled egg at low temperature and truffles . … Continue reading
BCN: L’Office or “French Accent”
If you are outside France, enter in a French restaurant and everybody speaks french, from staff to clients, is a great sign. L’Office in Barcelona is like that and was a total win. This restaurant in Eixample Esquerra serves delicious traditional French food. We asked the traditional Boeuf Bourguignon: amazing meat that melted, a tasty … Continue reading
BCN: Taberna Wakasa or “True Japanese”
I’m a sushi Orphan because São Paulo (one of the cities I had lived) offers some of the best. So I’m constantly looking for a good sushi to satisfy my obsession with raw fish. I heard that I won’t find good sushis in Barcelona as in SP, but one thing I had already noticed before … Continue reading
